About Us

Harriet Holmes, a Level 3 Wild Beach Leader and Level 2 Forest School Practitioner runs Beach School East Sussex. Inspiration came at a very young age, spending her early childhood exploring the shores of the North Devon coastline.

Our sessions take place on the stunning South Downs coastline from Eastbourne towards Brighton.

Harriet and her team of Level 3 Wild Beach Practitioners have over 20 years of professional teaching experience in schools.

We are passionate about the marine environment, the natural world and boosting children's health and wellbeing outdoors, whilst learning, connecting and having fun!

We are fully insured, hold Outdoor First Aid Certificates and are DBS checked.

Our Ethos

Now more than ever we need to encourage our children to spend more time outdoors. At Beach School East Sussex, we follow the same ethos as Forest School - at the beach. The aim of our child-led sessions is to build confidence, self-esteem, resilience, to boost physical and mental health and to develop love and care for the natural world.
