Beach School Sessions
Beach School aims to connect learners to the marine environment and educate them through child-led activities and games, encouraging care and responsibility for the natural world. Similar to Forest School, Beach School aims to inspire participants to learn about and appreciate the wider natural world, through positive outdoor experiences. Children are given the time and space to develop social and physical skills such as confidence, compassion, team working and self-esteem through practical hands-on learning. Children take risks, make choices and initiate their own learning, whilst boosting their health and wellbeing. A choice of activities is offered throughout each session, all of which can be linked to the current curriculum.

Benefits of Beach School

Beach school and spending time in nature helps children to develop physical, social and
emotional skills. Beach School sessions help to build resilience by allowing children to take calculated risks, this encourages independence, increases motivation and concentration and boosts confidence, health and wellbeing.

Child-led sessions gives the opportunity to explore, learn and develop, connecting children with our local marine environment, whilst linking to a wide range of curriculum points. Children who struggle to concentrate in a classroom, often become full of life and thrive in an outdoor environment.
